About

I'm Andrea, and this is my personal blog. Thanks for being here! I usually post on Fridays and Sundays, when I share something that makes me happy or a spiritual thought for the week. Sometimes I manage to squeeze in another post or two.

Nerding It Up

[Not me. In case you couldn't tell. Image source here.] So, I've mentioned before (like, a year ago) that I'm finishing my degree through BYU's Bachelor of General Studies program. At the time, I was taking a Student Development class so I could be officially accepted to the program. Well, I passed that class. And then I was accepted. And then...I didn't do anything. I couldn't afford to pay for tuition by myself, and I was really confused about financial aid, and we were trying to move, and blah blah blah... Anyway, I got some financial aid, and I signed up to take a class on the last half of the New Testament. (Which, as it turns out, is harder than I thought it would be.) So...I'm officially on my way! I'm excited. I'm not looking forward to the not-so-fun parts, like, I dunno...finals...but let's just stick with excited, 'kay? Which remind me: I need to go study.

  2. Oh, hooray!!! I know I told you this, but my mom is a few weeks (??) away from finishing her Bachelors. She started it...in 1980 or '81. (She decided that living in Provo, while her fiancee was in Seattle, was the definition of Not Fun. She went back to Seattle....got married...had twins...and the rest, as they say, is history. She started back up once we (the twins) were 10. It's been a slow and steady 18 years, but she's almost done!! If you need any help navigating it, PLEASE let me know. The woman is more organized than anyone else I've ever met. She successfully navigated the bread-crumb trail and got my sister and I, and two other classmates, graduated from the community college AND our high schools at the same time, satisfying ALL the requirements. She's a force of nature.)
