About

I'm Andrea, and this is my personal blog. Thanks for being here! I usually post on Fridays and Sundays, when I share something that makes me happy or a spiritual thought for the week. Sometimes I manage to squeeze in another post or two.

Feel free to leave a comment--I'd love to hear what you have to say! You can also reach me at teachmetowalk [at] hotmail [dot] com.

Happy Friday!

Have you seen Kid History or Kid Snippets on YouTube? Each video is acted out by adults, but voiced by interviews with their kids. Funny stuff. (And clean, which is always appreciated.)

This is my favorite of the Kid Snippets. (That is, of the ones I've seen. There are a bajillion others that I might maybe okay-probably-will-never have time to watch someday.)  Watch, laugh, and have a happy Friday!

Happy Valentine's and Friday! (Or Something...)

Dang it, I meant to blog earlier this week, but here we are on Friday again. Ah, well. Life got in the way, I guess.

Today is not JUST Friday...it's the Friday before Valentine's Day. So, here's a Valentine's Day giggle for you (the Trotsky one gets me every time):

These are by Ben Kling. Click there for more of his funny Valentines.

Happy Friday, Friends!

It's been a dreary, gray day here, so let's do something fun. Oh, I know! How about a Farty Party Friday, for old times' sake?

don't fart in smart cars

(Here are the links to some past Farty Party Fridays: koalas, dolphins, and bubble gum.)

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday!

Hey, it's Friday! I've been saving this one for today, the Friday before Halloween:

You are never truly alone. Comforting, right?

Happy Friday!

It's Friday! And I'm totally not freaking out about everything I have to get done today. Heh heh. Heh.

Anyway, here's a Friday funny for you. I'm not saying anything political here, one way or the other. I just really like unexpected puns.

Meanwhile, on the Internet...

I spend a lot of time on the internet.

My husband, Isaac, has a life or something. So he misses out on some of the memes and viral videos that go around. And I consider it my duty, as his wife, to educate him on the viral whatnots.

Tonight's lesson was Gangnam Style.

Just trying to do my part to spread edification and enlightenment within my family. And among my blog readers. Because this is totally important stuff to know.

Happy Friday!

How's your Friday? Here's a little giggle for you:

If your Friday's been anything like mine...well, I'm sorry. After getting our turtle treasure, let's just all take a nap, mmkay?

Too silly.

In our family, we say "silly" instead of "stupid." As in, "That was silly of me," or "What a silly TV show," or--my personal favorite--"Why is Facebook so SILLY?!"

Anyway. This summer has been pretty silly. And I mean that in both senses of the word. We've had some really goofy, silly fun this summer; we've also had some really silly, stupid stuff going on. It's just been too silly around here.

So, Silly Summer, here's what we think of you:

And now...I think we'll go to the beach.

Happy Friday and/or Saturday!

Here's a little poem I wrote.

Okay, I didn't write it. But I do recite it every single day.

Happy weekend!

Dig Yourself

Be Awesome Instead

I've probably posted this before, but I'm seriously thinking about making it my official motto. Because my life needs less sad and WAY more awesome in it. Happy Friday!

They Say It's Your Birthday!

Today is not Friday. It's Thursday. But I'm posting something silly anyway.

Because besides being Thursday, today is also my brother's birthday! I know, it's like all-birthdays-all-the-time around here lately.

Sooo...in honor of my brother, Thane, turning really really old, here's a funny little song. [Please ignore Ringo. He apparently doesn't like birthdays.]

Happy birthday, brother!

I Think the Couch Is Getting Jealous

Seriously, who needs a lousy ol' couch when you have so many other options?

[That's the backside of Bobo, if you couldn't tell.]

[[Also, I'm thinking of re-titling this blog, "Photos of My Son Watching Television." Because I know you're all fascinated by this sort of thing. Not.]]

A Little Obsessed With Mater...

Me: "Little Boy, did you talk to Grandma on the phone just now?"
Little Boy: "Dad-gum right!"

Cooooomfy.

We don't spend a lot of money around here. Like, any. We just can't spend money on anything that isn't essential--you know, like electricity. Can't browse Pinterest if I don't pay the electric bill.

Anyway, about a month ago I spotted a booster car seat on super-duper sale that I knew Little Boy would need soon. So we bought it. And he loves it.

The thing is, he doesn't quite need it yet. He's a little on the small side for his age, so he still fits into the good ol' convertible seat that we bought...I dunno, three years ago? That one has a five-point harness, so I'd like to keep him in it for as long as possible.

Soooo....hmm. Comfy high-back booster seat, just sitting around the house. What are we gonna do with it until we need it?

Oh, I know.

He can use it as a super-comfy high-back TV watching seat! You know, like normal families do.
