Go Get Yourself Some Cheap Sunglasses
The first thing you do when you get up out of bed
Is hit the streets a-runnin' and try to beat the masses

And go get yourself some cheap sunglasses

Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah

Spongebob Got Back
Have you seen this?
According to the New York Times, Susan Linn, director of Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood, said in a statement: “It’s bad enough when companies use a beloved media character like SpongeBob to promote junk food to children, but it’s utterly reprehensible when the character simultaneously promotes objectified, sexualized images of women.”
Burger King has responded that the commercial “airs only during adult shows targeting adult audiences” and is “meant to appeal to the adults who take their families to Burger King restaurants for good food and entertainment.”
As for me, I kinda like Spongebob. He's funny. And I think the "Spongebob's Got Back" concept would be funny in a non-kid context. But selling kids' meals? Not so much. I saw the 30-second version of this ad during American Idol on Tuesday--does Burger King really think that kids don't watch American Idol? I doubt it.

Recipe Link -- Aunt LoLo's Bread
So...homemade bread and I have a complicated relationship. I like homemade bread, and I like to make it, but I always put off doing it because it seems to take so looooong. But I do talk myself into it once in awhile. And lately I've been trying different bread recipes. This is one that I'm think I'll stick with for awhile. It's so good. And it's pretty easy. Here's the recipe, from Aunt LoLo of Bubba Bubbles. And be sure to go here for some additional tips.

They Say It's My Birthday...
...and it is. But check this out. I opened my mailbox a week ago and found a package that I wasn't expecting. It was from Shauna! How sweet is that?
Cute, huh? And let me tell ya, that Peaceful Moments CD has come in handy already. Thanks again, Shauna!Saturday, April 11, 2009
It's Been Too Long
I've only been on the internet a little bit in the last week. I realized today that maybe it's been too long--I found out that I won a giveaway last Monday, and I didn't know about it until today. Ooops. I'll be back with real updates this Monday, after I do an Easter post tomorrow.

Gardening in Miniature, pt. 2
Remember three weeks ago, when I blogged about Audrey III? Y'know, the little plant that Little Boy brought home from church that grew an inch overnight? Well, this is what she looks like now: I almost killed her a week ago--I put her too close to a heat vent overnight. A couple of her leaves died, and she stopped growing for a few days. But she's back at it now. I took the above picture two days ago, and all of her leaves are noticeably bigger today than they are in the photo. I'm going to start some tomato seeds this week. We'll see how that goes.
