I'm Andrea, and this is my personal blog. Thanks for being here! I usually post on Fridays and Sundays, when I share something that makes me happy or a spiritual thought for the week. Sometimes I manage to squeeze in another post or two.

To Be Offended is a Choice We Make

This quote isn't mega-spiritual, but it's something I've been thinking about:

"Certainly clumsy, embarrassing, unprincipled, and mean spirited things do occur in our interactions with other people that would allow us to take offense. However, it ultimately is impossible for another person to offend you or to offend me. Indeed, believing that another person offended us is fundamentally false. To be offended is a choice we make; it is not a condition inflicted or imposed upon us by someone or something else."

-David A. Bednar

  1. That is so true! It is a choice we make, we are in charge of how we handle ourselves, can't put the blame on anyone else!

  2. This is something I'm working on this year. Sometimes it is hard to do, let go, but it is so important not to be offended. Thanks for the reminder.

  3. Amen. This is so true and I think it is something that is easier the older you get and the more experiences you've had.
