My husband's in a band. He plays guitar. I know, I've somehow neglected to mention the band-iness on this blog.
{Not my husband. But Isaac does look a bit like Jack Black sometimes.}
Anyway, their first performance (show? gig?) is tonight. Rock on.

That Thing Every Mom Says...
Y'know how every mom says that their kids grow too fast, and the years are too short, and oh my goodness how'd that kid get so big...? Well. I'd just like to say that I agree with them. I was going through some old pictures the other day, and I was so surprised at how...well, little...Little Boy looked when we first moved to Washington. And that was only a couple of years ago! Just to make the comparison, here's the infamous "bum candy" picture from a month ago: He's not exactly a baby anymore, but he's still little, right? Heh. That's what I thought, until I looked through these photos from just after we moved here: What?! So yeah, now I'm that mom...the one who can't believe how fast her baby is growing up.

Your Unique Gifts
“Sisters, we, your brethren, cannot do what you were divinely designated to do from before the foundation of the world. We may try, but we cannot ever hope to replicate your unique gifts.”

Can I Touch 'Em? No?
Note: This is not my kid or my video.
But it makes me laugh. A lot.

We Prepare Each Day, Right Now
"Remember, eternity is now, not a vague, distant future. We prepare each day, right now, for eternal life. If we are not preparing for eternal life, we are preparing for something else, perhaps something far less." -M. Russell Ballard

Me + My Sister + A Cake
A couple weeks ago, my little (but much taller) brother had a birthday. My sister and I were asked, at the last minute, to decorate the cake for our little family party. It was a Sunday night, and cake-decorating supplies were low. Also, we aren't exactly...good at decorating cakes. Aaaand...really, I shouldn't blame the cake on the lack of decorating supplies. I should blame the cake on the combination of my sister and me. Because when you ask the two of us to do something together, things are going to get a little silly. The cake didn't turn out badly. It actually turned out kind of cute. And the birthday boy liked it. It was just a little... ...different, that's all.
