I've Got Everything That I Need Right in Front of Me

It's true. I do.

When I woke up this morning, I had this song stuck in my head. I think the universe was trying to tell me something...namely, that it would be perfect for Happy Friday!

So, happy Friday, everyone!

Say, "Ahhhhh"

Someone around here has been losing teeth everywhere. And it's grossing me out.

I've lost official count, but I think he's lost four teeth in the last few weeks. And that tooth that's dangling below his upper lip in the photo? I'm praying for that one to come out as soon as possible. I try not to cringe when I see him wiggling it all day long, and I try not to gag when he asks me to try to pull it out. It's still hanging on, though I can't figure out how.

It doesn't help that he's nearly as disturbed about it as I am. Body parts should just stay put.

One Little Flashback

I totally missed Christmas here on my blog. So here's just one little flashback--if The Boy remembers anything about this Christmas, I'm sure it will look something like this:

He received three big LEGO sets, and he spent the entire day building things and taking them apart. And I let him. Because, hey, it was Christmas.

Well, That's Just the Way I Am

“If there is one lament I cannot abide—and I hear it from adults as well as students—it is the poor, pitiful, withered cry, “Well, that’s just the way I am.” If you want to talk about discouragement, that phrase is one that discourages me. Though not a swearing man, I am always sorely tempted to try my hand when I hear that. Please spare me your speeches about “That’s just the way I am.” I’ve heard that from too many people who wanted to sin and call it psychology. And I use the word sin again to cover a vast range of habits, some seemingly innocent enough, that nevertheless bring discouragement and doubt and despair.
